At the annual Hire and Rental Industry Awards National Convention held at the Perth Convention Centre in May National Hire Industry Suppliers, Family and Small Businesses and Corporate Companies were in attendance at the gala ball as Event Power and Light from Wingfield, South Australia took out the annual “Rental Company of The Year 2011” Award.

Event Power and Light is a family owned and operated business proudly South Australian and providing specialised equipment hire solutions to all facets of industry, mining, corporate, emergency and private sectors with specialist attention provided to major events within our state and beyond.

The company was established in 2006 by our Directors, Brian and Patricia Goudie to deliver equipment like generators & light towers for hire and support services to the large event market in Adelaide & other places of South Australia from Days On The Green, Major Music Festivals, Sport and Television to Government and Local Government contracts and, as our name suggests, it specialises in Lighting Plant, Power Generation and Distribution.

Brian has had over 27 years involvement in the hire industry with generators and lighting towers in Adelaide & many major places in Australia. His passion for the event market comes from his many years of helping to develop and support the industry. Patricia has vast experience in quality assurance in light towers & generator hire service and her focus is on implementing best business practices.

The HRIA judges looked especially closely at the management team, staff and suppliers to assess and make judgement about the company’s likely success by virtue of what the light towers & generator hire company has accomplished in the past and the excellent reputation for quality services and support which was verified by testimonials from valued customers and suppliers. Areas also looked at by the judges included equipment suitability, reliability and maintenance, but the main criteria of the award was the standard of the company’s customer service.

In his acceptance of the Award Brian acknowledged the hard work and dedication of the employees saying “their commitment is why we are so successful, all of us at Event Power and Light are very proud of this achievement and it is also due to the fact that we have clients that entrust us with their power generation and lighting needs”.

Brian Goudie has been a member of the SA Chapter for over 26 years, serving on the Executive for 22 of those, President for 3 years and Vice President for 2 years. Currently Brian is on the Executive Committee.
